Greetings and welcome aboard! I am Dr. Nuur Alifah Roslan and you may call me Alifah. I am from Malaysia. Back in 2006, I graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. I soon received my Master’s Degree in Security in Computing in 2011 from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). My career path revolves around the fast-paced digital universe.
My role as a website specialist at a digital marketing agency, for a year marked as my professional working experience. Apart from that, I also served as a programmer cum research assistant at Mimos Berhad for two years. I am currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UPM. Involving with the industries with highlighting myself as the representative of UPM, gives me a huge opportunities in the future as for research networking and professional collaboration. While juggling with work and life, I managed to earn my PhD on 8 October 2020. I received my doctorate in Computer Security, specializing in Steganography, from UPM as well.
As of December 2024 till June 2025, I have embarked on a new academic journey as a postdoctoral researcher at University College London (UCL), where I am venturing into a new research domain which is; Human-Centric Security. This research focuses on investigating online harassment reporting mechanisms across digital platforms, with particular attention to usability, effectiveness, and the human experience. By exploring how these systems can be more inclusive, responsive, and secure, I aim to contribute to the development of safer and more supportive online environments. Therefore, my current interests besides Steganography, information hiding and multimedia security also include human centric security.
